Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Sherman, Vintage, Late 1950's - Sapphire AB Color - Faceted Crystal Beads - Graduated, Double Strand Crystal Bead Necklace and Earring Set. VERY RARE COLORS! - MINT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE! This handsome and elegant set dates from the late 1950's, made by the well known Canadian firm of "Sherman" designed as a double strand of graduated, faceted crystal beads accented with small crystal rondelles with rhodium plated crystal set mounts. The set is done in a series of dazzling sapphire blue AB color faceted crystal beads set with rhodium plated mount. The necklace measures 15" in length with a 3" extension for a total length of 18". The necklace comes with a pair of crystal bead cluster earrings that are an exact match to the details in the necklace. The set is in mint condition showing only normal use all the original beads and stones, none missing or replaced with no loss to the finish or plating. The necklace is not marked but collectors will recognize the design and know that Sherman Jewelry was sold through independent jewelry stores and large department stores such as Eaton's, Morgan's, Simpson's and Henry Birks & Son. In many cases, the pieces were in a box or on a card marked "Jewels of Elegance" some identified only with a silver paper string tag. The earrings are marked on the back, Sherman in script letter. SHERMAN Sherman was a Canadian costume jewelry company that produced very high-quality pieces. Colorful or clear prong-set rhinestones or cut crystal beads (sometimes with an aurora borealis finish) adorn most Sherman pieces; the metal is rhodium-plated or gold-plated. "Jewels of Elegance" by Sherman was written on some carded Sherman jewelry. Sherman produced jewelry from 1947-1981. As I usually do I'm offering this item at a LOW opening with NO RESERVE. !
