You are bidding on a wooden static display model kit of the "Elsie", a 1910 Grand Banks fishing schooner, originally sold in the 1980s by the Franklin mint. The kit appears complete, with many metal fittings, blocks & deadeyes, and rigging, all in unopened packages. Deck planking, tapered masts & spars, pre-carved ship's boats, and wood for deck furniture is included. There's a full set of pre-sewn sails, and pedestals and display board for mounting the finished model. The pre-carved hull will require a minimum of trimming and sanding. There's full plans and documentation in English. Please note: The picture of the completed model is not a photo of this finished kit, however this model will have substantially the same appearance.I don't know who manufactured this kit for Franklin Mint. The only other wooden "Elsie" kit I know of is by Model Shipways, sold through Model Expo. They have it on their website for $149.99. I don't think the MS kit compares well with this one at an equivalent price. The MS Elsie is 21.5" LOA. This Elsie is 28" LOA. This kit has sails, mounting pedestals, and read more
