Greeting Ebayers. Over the coming weeks I will be placing numerous items from my Personal Treasure collection up for auction. I have been treasure diving since 1996 and have acquired many unique items. I was a long time friend, investor & diver with Bob "Frogfoot" Weller. He was my mentor and partner in Treasure Quest Magazine and our boat Treasure Quest. I have countless memories of my time with him. One of my fondest was the day I found my first gold with Bob at my side. A lot of the things in my private collection came from the Weller collection and therefore have been featured in many books and were often literally a piece of treasure hunting history. All items come with 100% guaranty. ITEM: Rapier Blade Wreck: Merchant Nao Chaperon 1681 Size: 45 3/4 inch long 3/4 inch wide at base This rapier blade actually is in great condition and still has great flex to it. It has been preserved and treated to stop rusting. This blade was made in toldeo Spain and the mark for "Toldeo" is still faintly visible in the blood groove. This artifact was salvaged from the wreck of the Mechant Nao Chaperon which sank in 1681, after the Tierra Firme Arramada, commanded by the Marquis De Bienes, had taken on treasure and set sail from Portobelo, it was struck by a storm that scattered many of the ships to various places near the coast of Panama. The Merchant Nao Chaperon sank at the mouth of the Charges River which is fresh water, thus preserving this rare historic artifact. This has been in my collection since February 2001.
