Offered is a lovely 10 1/2 inch redware plate from well-known redware artist Mary Spellmire Shooner. This plate has a mustard and green background and features a stag and tulips with a wavy line and dots on the border. The plate has a coggled edge and is quite heavy - 2 pounds 12 ounces. It is in mint condition - just the lovely aging that both Greg and Mary do to their pieces, which, in my opinion, make them the best redware reproduction artists working today. They have been recognized by Early American Life as artists of distinction for many years and their pieces have graced many issues of EAL. Like all Shooner redware the pottery has a lead glaze so it can only be used for display. This plate is date 2014 and retains the original price tag of $215. The plate will be bubble wrapped and shipped with insurance.
