Composite sword featuring a finely etched lens shape blade, shortened from original length to 23", featuring on both sides a stand of arms at the forte and the cabalistic number 1614, with a stylized fox and scrolling foliage. Etching sharp and clear, the metal surfaces mostly smooth, with the exception of a few scattered areas of light pitting and several shallow edge nicks. Iron hilt features downward curving quillons with scroll finials. Single side ring, lacking insert. Large thumb ring on reverse. Globular pommel. Grip wrapped with twisted brass wire with ferrules top and bottom. Overall length 29". Former Carl Beck Collection with brass museum tag. For more information, please e-mail:
