SHOWCASE #34, Sept-Oct 1961. Signed on the splash page byJulie Schwartz! I had Mr. Schwartz sign it at a Charlotte Heroes Convention. 1st Silver-Age Atom by Gil Kane and Murphy Anderson. I grade all my comics based on the “Official Overstreet Comic Book Grading Guide” by Robert M. Overstreet & Arnold T. Blumberg. This comic is a solid “Good 2.0” but is complete, whole with no missing pieces. The cover is well attached. It appears VG and appears VG but has had some amateur restoration (not by me!). Spine – upper left has 1 inch of tape/glue. Looks to be double sided tape where the tape is not visible on the cover or inside cover. No yellowing. Upper staple well attached. Middle staple has ¼ inch staple tear but is still attached. Bottom staple looks to have been replaced. Looks like someone tried to clear glue cover in the inside. Cover in general has some amateur restoration (not by me!) where they colored crease lines. See scan below as some of the ink came through to the inside cover; see scan. Abraded corner on bottom left corner and bottom right corner. The interior pages are OWL Range 8-9. The “2011/2012 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide 41 st Edition” list this comic in Good 2.0 as $115.00. Great opportunity to get a collectible copy of one the top books of the Silver-Age and signed by the great, late editor, Julie Schwartz.
