This is a pair of vintage Shure stage speakers dating from the 1970s. These SR116s were the speaker of choice for the legendary Buddy Rich. The sound is powerful and clean with solid bass and bright highs. The cabinet is fully insulated and has dual tuned ports. As shown in the pictures, there are two 8" woofers and a horn tweeter, as well as an adjustable electronic crossover. The cabinets are solid plywood, measuring 15" x 16" x 23", and weight 41 pounds each. This pair is in great operating condition. The vinyl-wrapped cabinets show a bit of wear from years on the road, and each cabinet is missing one of the corner-protectors. These would be fantastic in your home studio, aerobics studio, for your garage band, or for live-performance in mid-size venues. I've been using them for home theater for the last ten years or so (I've owned them since 1983), and they'll knock your socks off.
I would prefer local pickup for these because of the weight, but I am open to boxing them up and shipping them -- it just won't be cheap! I will ship via USPS Parcel Post for the best price - depending on where you live, it could run as much as $50 each. Figure about 50 pounds each shipping weight. I ship to the lower 48 United States ONLY. Thanks! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. PLEASE NOTE!! The eBay shipping estimator is giving a shipping estimate for EACH SPEAKER. There will be a shipping charge for TWO SPEAKERS. I do not see a way to calculate this correctly in the listing, so before you bid, please make sure you understand that you will need to double the estimated shipping charge, as these will be coming in two boxes. At the end of the auction, please wait for me to send you an invoice. That invoice will contain a handling charge equal to the shipping charge for one speaker, reflecting the total cost for the purchase. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for understanding!
