This is a signed Anna Van Briggle green fan vase. It has a pattern on the front that shows more of the lighter shades of green at the top and the back tops lighter green does not drop as low giving it the appearance of looking taller. Giving the impression one side is front and the other is the back( at least to me it appears to have a front and back look to it.) It is glazed in dark green and and the top almost looks like a turquoise green. It has no crazing, no cracks or chips. It will make a wonderful piece of Van Briggle to have in your collection. I notice what looks like a small x with the A dome for the double A mark above her name that is the signature mark. You can see it in the darker picture above the name. I learned from a message I got that Anna did not sign these pieces. I followed up on this and learned that the Drysden pottery worked under Van Briggle and the ANNA series was born, not to honor Anna, but to prove claim, both claim the series, as Drysden was making for Van Briggle. The ANNA series was a short run series because of these two makers developing projects that eventually ended the ANNA series. That is my understanding of the ANNA series. Either way it has a wonderful history of two great pottery makers and t is no more of the series.The difference in the signature color of the vase is due to lighting trying to get a good angle to see the signature. It is a beautiful fan vase of the old two tone glazed pottery. It is approx 7 1/2" tall, and about 2 1/2 " at the smallest width and about 6" longest width. Be the bidder, sale starts at 5.99 . Buyer pays shipping and any special handling, and insurance is optional but suggested. I charge $.65 for mail confirmation that is included in the total shipping cost.
