This is a beautiful and very stylish Art Nouveau William Moorcroft vase. It was made at the factory of James Macintyre and Company around 1908. It is decorated with trailing garlands and swags of roses and forget-me-nots. This is known as the Eighteenth Century pattern. The vase is signed by William Moorcroft on the base and has the Macintyre backstamp. The vase is approx. 13 cm (5 inches) high. A handle has been broken and repaired. The gilding around the base is worn in places. On the inside of the rim there is a very fine hair crack on the glaze which I would say is like crazing and there is some light crazing above the shoulder of the vase. There has been some clay or similar rubbed on the base during manufactire, this is a little over the signature and underneath the Macintyre backstamp. Please see photographs for details. Overall, this lovely and rare little vase is in very good vintage condition. As always, there is a low starting price and no reserve.
