YOU ARE BIDDING ON a Beautiful Event Worn Game Jersey from the Monday Night Football game back on November 16th, 1987 Bears vs Broncos of Walter Payton! This is a TRUE Story, backed 100% by our reputation and the fact this has been in the family since the game! Money Back guarantee!! Long story short, after the Monday Night Game Loss to the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium 11/16/1987 My Grandfather (Who got me into the card business) had the great fortune of meeting the great Walter Payton after the horrible loss of 31-29. When introduced to Mr. Payton, who was sitting silent by his locker hands on head in only his pants and pads (remember he was not playing as much, it was his last season and it was a short season due to the strike) my grandfather had the great fortune of being able to just talk. After a few moments My grandfather asked for an autograph. Walter asked what he had with him to be signed. My Grandfather looked at him with an embarrassed grin and said "nothing". Walter looked around for something to sign, he then looked to the floor, saw his jersey laying t, then asked if that will do. Of course my Grandfather was very excited and said "It most certainly would"!! The Jersey was still a little moist when being autograph, and soon after faded because of the type of pen used and Jersey #s were not patches back then, they were iron on #'s. T is still a little bit of the Auto showing. You can make it out better in person then my pictures. Now, back in 1987 (The Strike year and Payton's LAST year before retirement) Sand-Knit and McGregor sporting goods manufactured the jersey's for most pro teams. This Jersey is one of those. You can see on the jersey w Walter scribbled on the tag to make certain his pen inked properly before signing the jersey. This is a great story that can really only be respected by a true fan. As mentioned I stake my reputation on this Jersey if for any reason I'm challenged with anything that I cannot prove.
