This is a beautiful desk or table lamp that was produced some time between 1923 and 1939 by H.G. McFadden & Co. of New York. H.G. McFaddin also produced the Emeralite lin eof lamps. The shade on the lamp is labeled Bellova and was made in the Czechoslavakian glass factory of J.Schrieber & Neffen of Rapotin. The conical glass shade is a deep sky blue color (almost aqua) that is encircled by a border of russet brown and gold. This glass is then encased in an intricately designed acid cut-back layer of clear glass. It presents a cameo glass effect. An opaque cover fits over the end of the shade and is attached to the shade by a metal fastener. The lamp stands 16" tall and measures 10" across at its widest point. The base measures 5" in diameter. The lamp works. The felt that originally covered the bottom of the base is missing and has been replaced with cardboard. The lamp and glass shade are in excellent condition. T is a slight chip to the very end of the shade in a small place that is covered by the metal fastener and thus is not visible. If you are a collector of glass, lamps or art deco designs you will find this lamp of interest. It was purchased at a recent estate sale. I try to describe my items as well as possible and intend that all sales are final. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. Thanks for looking at this item!!
