SIGNED BOOK VIOLINIST FRITZ KREISLER AUSTRALIAN TOUR 1925 Signed by Kreisler, with portrait photograph We are pleased to offer for sale this rare and entirely original scrapbook of concert bills and programmes from the 1925 Australian tour of world renowned violinist Fritz Kreisler. The scrapbook was assembled by the Polish Consul General to Australia Mr. L. de Noskowski who was also an early motion picture actor and music critic and journalist. One of Noskowski's articles for The Sydney Mail is included in the scrapbook. Noskowski befriended Kreisler when he arrived in Australia and the two shared a mutual love of fine music and the arts. The annotations in the concert programmes are by L. de Noskowski, reflecting his deep love and knowledge of the classical violin. The scrapbook represents an interesting collaboration of musical and literary talent. The scrapbook measures 200x320mm (8x13 inches) and numbers in excess of 100 pages. The concert programmes for the Sydney recitals of Kreisler have been clipped and stuck in. Additional smaller press clippings are loosely inserted at the rear. The first page of the scrapbook features a striking portrait photograph of Fritz Kreisler. Below it is a signed inscription to Noskowski.
