Being offered in this sale is a beautiful American art glass vase that was made by Durand in Vineland New Jersey in the 1920s. It is signed in SILVER on the underside of the base DURAND 1812-8. It measures 8 1/2" tall and is roughly 4 1/2" in diameter at its widest point. The top opening is 4" in diameter while the base is 3" in diameter. You can find a similar example of this piece illustrated in The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Art Glass by Shuman on page 71. It is decorated with gold lustre spider webbing over a pattern of green and gold leaves. The interior is a pretty shade of apricot that has a sheen to it similar to Tiffany Favrile or Steuben Aurene. The condition is excellent. T are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or repairs. In addition t is almost no loss to any of the "webbing". I could only find one small spot that may be wear.
