The painting is very unusual Folk Art signed by an artist named Emil Nolde. He lived between 1867-1956. He was born before Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The artist calls this work of art "The Head of Christ" and was done in 1909. This is a watercolor over ink. You can see some of the lines in the picture. The size of the art is 10 1/2" x 8 1/4". This is a signed print no. B29,180. This is his 29th print, funded by William Nelson Cromwell, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. This is a very rare piece of art that have National Gallery style and was recognized by William Nelson Cromwell Foundation. This piece should be in your private collection, gallery or museum.
