As the owner of Jefferson Art Lighting Company I now am in the process of liquidating my extensive collection of antique and period lighting fixtures that I have acquired over the past 30 years. I purchased this antique lamp base and many other high quality period lamps in Flint, Michigan many years ago at the Kruse estate auction of famous lamp collector Bob O'Goreck. Offered: This large signed antique HANDEL table lamp base, shown with its perforated heat cap and large mushroom finial, is in excellent used original condition. It is illustrated in the noted reference book, HANDEL Lamps, Painted Shades and Glassware by Robert DeFalco, Carole Goldman Hibel and John Hibel on page 54 w it is described as a bronzed metal base of baluster (vase) form molded with large stylized petals ascending the body, raised on a circular spreading foot with a scalloped border, the upper section molded as a stylized tree trunk. The antique table lamp base has developed a fabulous mottled medium antique brown, black and verde gris green patina over the past 100 years. The lamp base is outfitted with three matching antique pull chain sockets that are marked 250W Hubbell 250V.
