A Gorgeous Cobalt Glazed Little Gem! Available for auction is a signed original Hilton small ruffled vase. The Hiltons are one of the oldest pottery making families in the North Carolina area. They moved locations a couple of times, and I do not have the expertise to attempt to date this piece. Hopefully the experts out t who know will share! The glaze on this vase is a beautiful high gloss deep cobalt blue. The clay is a deep red color. The ruffled edge is typical of many of the pieces made at Hilton Pottery. I apologize, the glaze color is difficult to capture and the high gloss causes many reflections. I've tried to provide several photos and a detailed description, but please feel free to ask any questions you might have. This vase has some tiny pinpoint glaze pops and one small under glaze bump (see fifth photo). The bottom of the vase (see last photo) has three tiny white that appear to be fired-on clay, glaze, or slip. They are very hard and I was unable to safely remove them. I very very confident that these specks were t at the time of manufacture. T are 2 small flat chips on the bottom edge of the vase, they may have been original to the manufacturing process because it looks like a glaze drip had stuck to the kiln shelf. They do not show from the side. T is also a permanent pen mark w someone wrote a price on the bottom of the vase . In spite of these issues (and I am being very picky) this vase displays beautifully and is a very nice piece of Hilton Pottery. Be sure to check my other items too! I am happy to combine shipping. I never charge an additional fee, only the actual cost of the postage! Now for the necessary details... I use recycled packaging whenever possible to keep costs down and to do my bit for the environment, but I will not compromise the safety of your purchased items! If special packaging is required the buyer will be responsible for the additional cost which will be shown as a handling cost. I will gladly combine shipping as long as the items can be safely packed together, they are purchased within a week of each other, and you wait to pay until the close of all the items you want to combine. SHIPPING: The buyer will be responsible for shipping costs including delivery confirmation and insurance (required). I charge actual shipping costs only, no handling fees for shipments within the U.S. Local pick-up will be considered, please ask before bidding. Packages are usually shipped within 1-2 days of purchase. If you don't see the shipping option you want contact me for additional rates and options. NOTE: I will not ship to an unconfirmed address without approval prior to bidding! For international shipments contact me prior to bidding for shipping rates and options. Please note, I will not falsify customs documents so please don't ask. PAYMENT: At the close of auction you will recieve an invoice. Buyer is to make contact within 3 days of auction close. I prefer PayPal, but will also gladly accept cashier's checks, money orders, and personal checks (must clear before item will be shipped). Paypal payments are requested within 5 days of auction close. Checks and money orders are due within 10 days. Bid with Confidence! This item has been meticulously cleaned, inspected, and described.
