I have gotten many emails from Ebayers asking w I have been and why I have not been listing auctions lately and the answer is that local business has boomed since Hitchcock announced their closing. I tried listing some pieces and they would sell locally the next day and I would have to take the auction down and lose the listing fee money. If you intend to bid on this item, please do not wait until the end because it may not be t long. I will not sell the item locally as long as it has a bid. I have talked to many people about this and this is the only fair way i can come up with. Now onto the chairs. You are looking at a pair of black/Harvest Stonington side chairs. These chairs have been totally restored by A&K Furniture, Hitchcock's authorized refinisher for over 13 years before hitchcock closed. This is w Hitchcock sent all of their repair and refinish work to be done. Mark, the owner of A&K was in charge of manufacturing at Hitchcock before he left to do what he does now. All work is performed by now ex Hitchcock employees using genuine Hitchcock stencils, paints and stains. It is a very expensive process, but as you can see in the pictures, the pieces come out beautifully. I am offering low $45 shipping to the lower 48 states on this item . People ask how I can ship so cheaply and the answer is , I can't. I pay some of the shipping and all of the packing and handeling costs to make it easier for you. If you buy multiple items of mine and would like me to deliver, email me and we can work out delivery charge, if any . When/ if I do deliver, I help you bring it to its final resting spot. This item can be delivered , free of charge to any shipping company in Connecticut. I start my auctions off at the minimum price I would accept for these items. I do not start them at $1.00 and put a reserve or use a shill bidder to get to my minimum like I have experienced on Ebay. I am a collector of Hitchcock furniture, both antique and revival. You can be sure if my auction says Hitchcock, it is an L. Hitchcock piece unless I state otherwise. You are welcome to come look at any item I have before you bid. I try to describe items as best I can, but please keep in mind this is used furniture and will have wear to some degree or another. I think I am very honest in describing my furniture. I personally know what it is like to buy an advertised "mint", or Excellent condition" piece, only to be dissapointed when I open the box. I also understand it can be stressful to buy an expensive item over the internet and be very nervous about risking your hard earned money, so I try to ship same, or next day and email you a tracking number so you get your item ASAP. Payment must be received whithin 10 business days of auctions end. Winning bidder must email me whithin 48 hrs of auctions end. All checks including personal, bank and money orders must clear 1st.I do not like to give or receive negative feedback so communication is a must. I usually check my email at least 3 times a day. Most items ship same or next day and tracking numbers are emailed day of ship. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck and happy bidding
