Kerttu Nurminen Kerttu Nurminen was born in 1943 in Finland. She worked over 20 years in the Nuutajärvi Glass Factory and is by now active as artist for 30 years.Kerttu Nurminen is known for her unique glass designs in combination with functional objects. Because she got in touch with the method of glass processing at her schooling, she became active in the creation of new methods.By now her works can be found in different collections and museums all over the world. You are bidding on this very unique and beautiful, signed (on the bottom of the bird near the sticker, which I have photographed for you in pic 3) Kerttu Nurminen piece of glassware. The signature sayss - Kerttu Nurminen Nuutajarvi Notsjo. This bird was made pre 1980s, as that is when Nuutajarvi merged with Iittala. The sticker on the bird says "Nuutajarvi 1793" There is a hole on the head approx 5mm where I presume the glass has been blown as it is not a chip (I have photographed this for you) and the join of the two 'feathers' on the tail is slightly chipped (which I have also photographed) The bird has shades of green near the head, which come out when pictured against the light (which I have done). The bird is very reminiscent of Oiva Toikka design, but is more unusual and special as is Kerttu Nurminen. Please take a look at my other items. . Posted with eBay Mobile
