SIGNED MOSER AMBERINA PITCHER SET CIRCA 1885-Highly Desired Pattern Applied acorns, large enameled bird, oak leaf, and insects w/4 glasses By world-renowned glassmaker of choice to select royalty and other VIP's. You are bidding on a 8 1/2" (approx), highly-prized, circa 1885 Moser amberina pitcher with pattern of applied acorns, enameled oak leaves, insects, & 1 ¾" brightly enameled bird. The pitcher is approximately 6" at its widest girth. I purchased the glasses separately at the same auction, but they are of a similar pattern of applied acorns and oak leafs (no insects or bird). The four tumblers are not amberina, but nicely complement the cranberry color of the pitcher. An amberina pitcher of the same pattern (minus the bird) is found on page 89 of Gary D Baldwin's Edition Two of Moser Artistic Glass (1997). The pitcher's value in the book is estimated to be from $4500 to $5000--I assume the large enameled bird would increase the stated value somewhat. The glasses are listed from $125.00 to $150.00 each . I have also seen a much smaller piece of a similar pattern on the Moser website in the history pages. I normally do not like reserves, but I am not anxious to let go of this beautiful treasure. A fair price, however, could pry this item from my possession. The reserve for these items is significantly below the stated values.
