Cecil Aldin 1930 original bookplate/print from the spectacular book - 'An Artist's Models' published in 1930. This is a genuine item, not a copy or reprint, guaranteed 81 years old. Loopy the ugly puppy Dalmatian Born in Slough, England in 1870 ,Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin became one of the most popular artists of his era. Aldin first worked as a magazine illustrator but became known on both sides of the Atlantic as a talented sporting artist . His personal interests included fox-hunting, horse-racing, golfing and the countryside and his illustrations included all these subjects and more including pastoral scenes, cathedrals and London gentry but it is for his charming and often humorous dog illustrations that he is most remembered. His affection for dogs, shines out of every one of illustrations and his understanding of all things canine allowed him to create works of art that were at the time said 'to capture the very soul of the dog'. This is matted (mounted ) and ready for you to frame and give as a wonderful present. Ideal unique present for any dog lover. Mount is black in colour and contrasts well with the print. Size with mount is 10" x 8" All prints are posted in hardback envelopes which state 'Please do not bend' in large red writing on the front, for their protection.
