This is a signed original oil on canvas by artist Al Jackson. Not too much is documented about Al Jackson (now deceased), however, some info can be found on . In researching auctions of Jackson's, I have seen some run between $2000-$3000.Although not originally from Chicago, Jackson did spend some time in the Chicago area painting and studying. In fact I obtained these paintings from a deceased relative back in the mid 1970's. From what I understand this painting itself would have been done around the late 1960s to early 1970s.Jackson's style is that of perfectionism with his still lifes. In fact....most of his still lifes, including this one, have his seemingly signature style water droplets that are very realistic looking. I tried to capture this with digital photo, but not nearly as nice looking as in actuality. This painting is not on stretchers at this point, and could benefit from re-stretching. Also, t does seem to be some damage to background paint to the left of the pitcher above the pepper. See image six. Surely a professional could touch this up. The painting is signed in the lower right hand corner.Buyer pays shipping and handling on this item. Insurance is required. International shipping fees vary.
