Signed Pablo Picasso (UL) drawing titled `L`artiste et son modele`. The signature that is exhibited in the UL of the piece is in ink. The piece contains a gold plaque on the lower center of the frame that contains the artist`s birth and death dates, name and the title of the painting. Picasso was a child prodigy who was recognized as such by his father, an art teacher. Picasso was a rebel from the start, and as a teenager, he began to frequent the Barcelona cafes where intellectuals gathered. When he arrived in Paris, he soaked up the works of Manet, Gustave Corbet and Toulouse Lautrec whose sketchy style impressed him greatly. Whatever Picasso had a hand in, he turned out to have a unquenchable spark of utter genius. The piece comes with a certificate of authenticity written in French from Paris in May of 1969. It is listed in the Zervos as `Homme and Femme` Volume 27, page 12, plate 38.This piece also comes with the original receipt from when this piece was purchased from the Allan Rich Gallery in New York City. Site: 14.5`H x 19.5`W; Frame: 22.25`H x 29.25`W. Circa - June 28, 1967.
