"Together in Unity" 5 Day $9.99 Auction with NO RESERVE The massive bull elephant stands proudly. Every ripple radiates a strength of purpose. With him stand the cow, calf and newborn. They are a family moving forward together in unity. This magnificent sculpture, titled "Together in Unity", was commissioned as an official commemorative of the 1984 Republican National Convention. The Artist, Miley Busiek, is renowned for her dramatic sculptures including the 1980 “Together A New Beginning” bronze eagle. Presented on a hand-tooled walnut base, this massive sculpture is 31’ long 12’ high and weighs over 40 lbs. In the tradition of Remington and Russell, President Reagan signed and impressed his thumb print into the original wax model so that it is an important element of this beautiful and majestic sculpture. Limited Edition: The edition was limited to 100 individually hand-cast and numbered pieces. Number One was reserved for President Reagan and is in his Presidential Library. The original model and casting molds were destroyed , thus protecting the integrity of the issue. This majestic sculpture is destined to become an important historic treasure. Created to celebrate the reelection of President Reagan, it is the only sculpture ever produced to bear both his thumb print and his signature. This was done in the Oval Office. 100 reservations were taken for this sculpture in 1984 at a price of $2,500 each. This particular piece is number 50/100. These artworks are truly a rare find that you're not likely to see for sale again any time soon. This piece is in absolute mint condition, void of even the tiniest of flaws. Sculpture comes with the original "Dallas Collection" book from the Republican National Convention.
