Vintage to Antique (Est. 1960s) Old Pawn Sterling Silver and Green Turquoise Watch Cuff With Heavy Stamping! Natural, Moss Green Stones! Backstory: The 1960s is a conservative guess because we do not know when Navajo watch cuffs began being made and we would rather underestimate age than overestimate it, but this seems to be an early one! It has more simple, elegant lines than is often seen on watch cuffs--more like a traditional bracelet. Let's get the disclaimer out of the way right off the bat. This is an old watch cuff, handmade in what certainly appears to be the Navajo style, with age, materials, and techniques to a roughly mid-20th Century time frame. Unless the original tags and paperwork are still attached to a piece of "Old Pawn, however, it has not necessarily actually ever been pawned. This has become a general term that roughly characterizes older pieces, which admittedly drives specialty dealers up a wall. Also, without that paperwork, the ge of any piece of jewelry can be approximated, but it is always just a reasonably educated guess and the exact year is always arguable. According to the U.S. Department of the Interior, no seller can claim a piece of jewelry is Native American made unless it is signed by a recognized artist of a recognized tribe.
