This must be one of the most lavish books of its kind that was ever produced by any studio. we have a campaign book for the most famous of all Hollywood studios, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, for the 1924/1925 season. It is hardcover, and measures a huge 14 x 11.5 inches, with the MGM lion proudly displayed on the front cover, which, along with the back cover is age toned. The outer spine is complete. The inside is a bit of an enigma. The pages are laid in loosely, and have punched holes at the edges. I don't know if the interior was once bound with ribbon or cord, or if these holes were added at a later date, although this seems unlikely as t is no evidence of such damage to the cover. T is evidence of tape repair to the first couple of pages, but not to the bulk of the book. I can give no guarantee that this is complete as the pages are loose, but t seems to be no omissions that I can see. It runs to . First 4 pages are facts and figures and a message from Marcus Loew. The next 20 pages are devoted to wonderful drawings of the men who make the movies, including Robert Leonard, Marshall Neilan, Erich Von Stroheim, King Vidor, and a rare piece of publicity for Irving Thalberg. Following 40 pages are devoted to the beautiful illustrations of their films, including stars such as Lon Chaney, Norma Shearer, Mae Murray, Lew Cody,John Gilbert and many more. Following 34 pages are tipped in photographic portraits of the stars, including Renee Adoree, Mae Busch, Marion Davies, Buster Keaton, the Gish sisters, and many more. T are a further 14 pages devoted to miscellaneous items, including 2 pages devoted to Erte and his designs. So that makes 112 pages overall.
