This piece was found at an Estate Auction. I have a few more pieces to put up for auction in the upcoming weeks from the same estate. I do not know the history of these pieces or how they were acquired but they are very beautiful pieces of history. This piece is absolutely stunning and in AMAZING condition for age! circa late 1800's or early 1900's ? The fabric and buttons alone are priceless...This is a black printed silk top, probably had a matching black skirt at one time. all hook and eyes are in place..buttons down front are tiny beaded pieces of art, for show only, there are hook and eyes inside. 6 rows of 4 diagonal buttons over lace. Boning down front and V-ed lower in front. Front bodice & cuffs are lined in a linen. Soooo many pleats in this blouse .....just stunning. This is a tiny blouse-surely I would say for display only but here are the FLAT measurements anyway....shoulders 14", sleeve length 27"-which I believe is to make the sleeves very puffy, the cuff would go around wrist. waist along back...12"! These pictures look good & aren't even doing this piece justice . Only one split in fabric found under the arm, almost hard to find-see pic.
