Nasima By Sally Harmer Limited edition 0117/1750 In original box with certificate of authenticity 19 inches high Gem studded sculpture celebrating the magic & mystery, the legends & history of The Silk Road. The fabled overland trade route that linked the ancient empires of Rome with China. Nasima- a woman of the Afghan mountains, holds her young son close as she walks the Silk Road where it threads across the mountain plateau between the peaks of the Pamirs. A land of dust & whirlwinds, here is the roundabout of the ancient world, a scene of flourishing trade & great empires. Diamante & turquoise stones adorn her hat, while turqoise stones from Iran decorate the childs smooth silk gown & hat. In great condition, a really substancial weighty figure. In need of an appreciative home now I've downsized. Will post overseas if contacted at least 48 hrs before auction ends.
