Very ornate silver box, The designs and detail are absolutely stunning. The craftsmanship is 2nd to none the hinge blends into the box. All angles and corners line up perfectly and the lid opens with great smoothness. T is no damage present. The front left foot has the hallmarks of Iran (Persian). The double lined cartouche indicates .900 silver. The lion holding the sword is c. 1967-79 and was used in Iran during this time. T is another mark that is very small, to small to photograph on the bottom of the box that when viewed under magnification it appears to be a rooster with the number 1 next to its right foot. I am not sure exactly what this is but I believe it is a French mark, perhaps an import mark or some type of guarantee mark. The box measures 3 5/8" W x 5 5/8" L x 1 1/8"H.
