EUROPEAN SILVER & ENAMEL SOUVENIR SPOON DRESDEN , GERMANY ~~ MADONNA & CHILD Offered is a European silver and enamel souvenir spoon from Dresden , Germany . The bowl features a gorgeous portrait of the Madonna and Child, done in exquisite detail and beautiful colors. It is probably a rendition of a famous artwork in one of the fabulous Dresden art museums, possibly of the Sistine Madonna by Raphael located in the Dresden Gemaldegalerie. Please Note: The "white" spot at the bottom of the bowl are light glareâe¦t is no damage at all to any of the enamelwork on the spoon. The stem is enameled in white/black on both front and back, and is capped with the enamel coat-of-arms of Saxony (Free State of Saxony), of which Dresden is one of the three governmental regions. The spoon is 5-1/4 inches long and is in mint condition with no dents, dings, or scratches. It is gold-washed, and is hallmarked on the back with "800" and the maker's marks. T is also a small monogram on the back. This lovely spoon would be a wonderful additional to any collection of fine enamels. Please email me with any questions or if you wish additional pictures.
