I got a call a couple of weeks ago about this set being available, as the original owner had passed away. He purchased this set in 1955 with his paper route money, and it cost him $42.95 for this 1955 set #5530 T BH. The engine is in fabulous condition as you can see in the photos. All the cars are excellent, but the car boxes are missing flaps. The wrapper for the engine I found unusual, consisting of a combination of cardboard and black wrapping. The Southern gondola has no box at all. The billboard is terrific, but the box lid is loose. I ran out of photo space, so I chose to leave out the picture of the caboose, which is in really great shape. The set box is coming apart at one seam, and the top lids are rough. The end photo makes it look better than it is. There is a catalog, paper instruction sheets, and the loose items that make up a set.I believe this is one of the nicest 479s to ever come up on eBay, and the freight cars and bill board will not disappoint.
