Silver Guilloche Enamel Pictorial Cigarette Case 1920s top Suedkontor im Auftrag: Artikelbeschreibung / Description This outstanding craftsmanship quality is a vivid examplefor the masterful enamel over guilloche & silver artworks of Austrias silversmiths The Horse is a miniature hand painting you can see it in the pics and is for sure not a cheap photo or a print This precious silver & enamel cigarette case dates back to Europe around 1900-20 It features on top lid a very fine Guilloche under Enamel with a miniature enamel hand painted black horse head Amazing see in deatails painter did a very great job and i dont wanna know how long it took him to paint this beautiful Picture. The background transluizid enamel has a opaque effect wich means it is changing the colours from white into white light blue depense w the light is comin from, this is hard to show in the pics the way its enameled shows that this case is a outstanding high quality Silversmith Artwork. The case is probably manufatured in Austria or Germany, around first ¼ of the 20th century. The silver mark on one side of the lids is 900 well this Silver content was used mostly in Austria. the mark 900 stand for the silver content which is 900/1000 Case has a gold washed interrior which has no loss. The enamel has no loos just a light wear use t are very minor surface scratches not realy visibal. Catch and hing are still working fine so case closes tide Case can be still used for cigarttes off size from today We would say all together its in very good Museum condition.
