A beautiful mirror which was designed as either a hand held mirror, or, with the use of a catch, transformed into a free standing mirror. There are several marks/hallmarks on the silver:- On the handle appears to be a '5' or a '6', or it may be an 'S'. To the frame of the mirror are the letters 'JR; SJ', plus a variety of hallmarks including a lion. On the decorative edging are the letters and numbers 'Rp?118467' . It is cleanly broken into 2 pieces, and is bent at the bottom right hand and slightly to the top of the decorative frame. The back wooden insert is broken, and subsequently the velvet covering to it will need to be re- attached. There is slight watering to the mirror. The mirror measures 32 cm long x 15 cm at its widest point. This is a beautiful mirror, which has been in the family for several generations. However, it needs repair, so would possibly find a better home with an expert who could bring it back to its original state . Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the item.
