Up for bid is a BEAUTIFUL King Master Model 1065 Cornet. Is it a Silversonic? you decide. I can find no hallmark on the bell, is it possible that it is engraved over with the first owners name? In picture 10 you can see the first owners name professionally engraved next to the valve section, discreetly and tastefully done. The bottom of the engraving is silver , not brass as it would be on a brass bell. Also the bell is very heavy compared to a brass bell and has a different ring to it. And last but not least is the King pamphlet telling you about the sterling silver bell and the care of it. I don't know, what I do know is this is one VERY nice King Master. Look closely at the pictures, the silver is perfect, there is one very tiny ding in the side of the bell shown in picture 9 with a pencil next to it for reference and a little "ping" on the crook of the bell about1/8" in diameter and that's it, super clean and well taken care of. All slides pull easily, valves are nice with little wear and good action. The serial number 466768 dates this horn to about 1971. Also included is a Vincent Bach 7C mouthpiece in excellent shape. The King factory case is clean with a few scuffs on the outside as seen in the pictures, the inside is in good shape and not musty. Make sure you look closely at the pictures, they tell the story better than read more
