This is a 6 piece Queen Anne style silver plate coffee/tea service set with a tray and a tipping kettle. I can find very little reference to tipping kettles on the internet, so I think they are rare. my wife bought this set because of the tipping kettle.
This mint condition tea service was bought new 10 years ago at a cost of $200.00. It was never used and has been stored in our closet the whole time. When we unpacked it to take pictures we were amazed at how shinny the silver was. All the pieces, except the tray, are wrapped in tarnish resistant material (like a cotton blanket) as well as plastic. This quality, well-made set consists of: Tipping Kettle w/hinged lid--14-1/2" high, 9-1/2" wide, and weighs 3 lbs 6 oz. Tea Pot w/hinged lid--8" high and 8-1/2" wide handle to handle, and weighs 1 lb 6oz Coffee Pot w/hinged lid--9-1/2" high, 8-1/2" wide handle to handle, and weighs 1 lb 10 oz. Creamer--4-1/2" high, 4-1/2" wide, and weighs 7 oz. Sugar Dish w/lid-- 5-3/4" high, 5" wide handle to handle, and weighs 9 oz. Footed Tray--22-1/2" long (including handles), 14" wide, 2" high, and weighs 3 lbs 15 oz. Also included are 2 wick type heaters that fit under th tipping kettle to keep the water hot. I think you could use lamp oil (maybe even scented lamp oil) in the heater. This set will arrive in its original factory packaging. If you have any questions at all, please email me.
