Silver plate punchbowl approx 30 cm. in diameter, with 6 silver cups that hang off the rim. The markings on the base are very small - I'm not sure that I've read them correctly, but so far as I can tell they are as follows: Topld [possibly] S [in Gothic script] kdo [possibly] then another mark which I can't read at all. There are some dents and scoring at the bottom inside of the bowl (see second photo). There is no ladle. The Aberdeenshire Central and South branch of the Council for Voluntary Services Aberdeenshire (CVSA) http://www. runs the Boxroom-Magpie Project at the Crow’s Nest Waste & Recycling Centre in Banchory. The Boxroom i s a non-profit making community furniture project set up to address the need for second hand furniture and recycled goods in our 'throw-away' society. In 2003, The Boxroom won a 'Green Butterfly' Award from the Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum in recognition of its efforts in supporting re-use and recycling. The Magpie Project is diverting ‘waste’ away from landfill sites. Volunteers are on-site to ask members of the publlic not to throw their old but still valuable household items in a skip, but to donate them right there on the spot to the Boxroom so they can be sold or re-used. Items donated to the Boxroom are offered for sale in the Boxroom's shop at charity shop prices. The revenue from the sales helps to cover the cost of the premises and the costs of delivery and collection (a van driven by volunteers). Items such as household furniture and electrical applinces (having passed the statutory electrical safety PAT-tests carried out by qualified volunteers) are also supplied free to lower income households nominated by Aberdeenshire Social Services. The generous citizens of Banchory and the surrounding area have responded by donating not only 'waste' but also quality unwanted items such as the item advertised here.
