SILVER PLATED BOWL WITH HANDLE - ALEXANDER KACH, RUSSIA My research indicates that the marks on the base of this item (see last photo below) are by Alexander Kach, St Petersburg and would date this item to around 1895. It is a heavy metal cauldron shaped bowl with a hinged handle. Originally siver plated but most of the plating has worn off the outside. Inside and underneath show most of the remaining silver. Clearly it is a quality made item which has a lot of weight, a smooth movement to the handle which has not worked loose at all and an attractive although unusual squat shape. The bowl is just under 6" wide, 2.75" high with handle lowered and 5.5" with handle raised (150mm x 70mm x 135mm). It weighs 15.9ozs or 452g. It is being sold in uncleaned condition, there are a few surface marks, a small dent (as seen in the fourth photo below) 4mm x 1mm but no breaks, splits or other damage. There is no evidence of any repairs or restoration. Please email us if you have any questions Payment: We accept Paypal, UK cheques and UK Postal Orders (made payable to TRINKETORIUM).
