We are offering for sale a 1977 Trans Alaska Medallion This is number 4 of 25 that were minted in Silver. It weighs 1.2 ounces It is marked .999 fine silver. It comes in a plastic container that has a few scratches but the coin is great. My husband designed the medallion and had 25 struck in silver. The silver is so bright that it is hard to take a picture of it, the darker looking areas are really polished silver. The collector of this medallion will have a beautiful scene of the pipeline under construction, welders, truck drivers & heavy equipment workers all doing their part to bring much needed oil to the lower 48. The back shows the great state of Alaska with the pipeline reaching over 800 miles from Prudoe Bay to Valdez, crossing the Arctic Circle, mountains, rivers and swamps. Also the Eskimo making his way across the Arctic. Pictured also are Moose, Bear, Salmon & Whale The owner of this medallion will have a rememberance of Alaska and the building of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
