What an unbelievable find for any Western or Radio Collector.Shown is a very Rare Cowboy Tube Radio made by Silvertone in the early 50's.The radio is made in a Jet Black plastic/bakelite Case with a 3 dimensional White plastic Cowboy on a horse spelling out Sivlertone with his rope lasso that is embossed above him into the black case. Also highlighting the radio is a White plastic Gun used as the station pointer above the White on/off volume knob (see photos). The station dial extrudes from the radio case with the Gun Pointer mounted in the middle and turning to select the desired radio station. All these features are displayed on the front over the horizontal grill bars. The on/off volume knob turns with ease as does the Gun Station Pointer. The radio is complete with the power cord, all the tubes and parts including the Original cardboard back that has the Silvertone name and model number 4, chassis number 478-233 on it.The radio even has the Original paper label on the bottom showing the tube location and tube numbers. How exciting this would look displayed among 1950's Western or Radio Memorabilia.Surely one of the most rarer and outstanding pieces in any collection.I plugged the radio in and after warming up the radio worked picking up some local AM stations with good sound and clarity. The radio case is in good condition for its age read more
