Robert and Jan Simpich, owners of Simpich Character Dolls, Ltd., retired after 54 years of making handmade, handsewn Character Dolls. Their store in Old Colorado City has closed it's doors forever. You can still access their website for information only, but orders are no longer taken and all of their dolls will only increase in value as time goes by. This auction is for the The Shepard with a Staff. He is approximately 8 1/2" tall and is mounted on a wooden base that is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". This little Shepard Boy was so busy that he broke his staff and tfore can only shepard his flock with a stick. I'm sure that someone would be able to lovingly replace his staff for him. Other than that, he is in Excellent condition and has been gently displayed in one home. The bottom of the wooden base shows the date 1997. Feel free to email me with any questions. We have more Simpich Nativity dolls being listed this weekend, including Mary and Baby Jesus, Joseph, Shepard with Lamb, Shepard Drummer, Nativity Donkey and Shepard with stick. Please check back with us. All of our auctions will be for 5 days only, so that you can receive in time to display for Christmas.
