Serial #af245020 and i beleive that puts it to a 1939 date, it has an original singer motor and it is signed- singer sewing motor cat.3-120 110-120 volts, 0.4 amps, 25-75 cycles, ac&dc, the singer mfg. co. elisabethport n.j made in usa, #678-3b, The 221 Featherweight is renowned for its lightweight portability. Quilting classes, sewing get-togethers, and Featherweight Fanatics Clubs will be fun to attend with this classic collectible. the unit itself is in very good condition for its age-still shiny and smooth w/no major wear etc..the only thing i notice is the word singer that is on the light has worn on the first couple of letters and on the base some of the gold has worn also , but only a little, you can see in photos, Sewing machine is in original condition, it belonged to my great grand mother and she knew how to use it, it was passed down to my mother, now it is looking for a new home due to space restrictions, The case and the handle of the case does show some wear .
