Up for auction is a Singermodel 221-1 (Feather Weight) # AE991264 According to a Website specializing in Singer Feather Weights , this machine was made in Elizabeth , New Jersey machine between the years of 1935-1938.
It is A Quilters & Collectors Dream Machine. This is your chance to own a part of history! It is fast, smooth, quiet, and powerful. It stitches forward and reverse and nice straight seams. The tensions are perfectly adjusted, no skipping stitches, no puckering. I personally tested the machine on fabrics ranging from denim to silk. The foot control is in great condition! The machine can go from slow to fast and in between speed with perfect control. No jumping speed straight to blazing fast. One huge myth about the Singer Feather Weight is that it only sews straight stitch, forward and backwards.
