This is a Singer Centennial Model 15-90 sewing machine from a relative's estate. The machine was removed from a wood cabinet and is being offered as shown. (It is one of several Singer machines in the estate.) To learn as much as possible about what we have, I called Singer. Based on the plate number (EF004405), Singer advised this machine was manufactured in Clydebank, Scotland between 1949 and 1951. This confirms what other family members recall - that it was purchased in the early 1950's. The Singer rep also indicated this model is interchangeable with Singer's Model 15-91. The primary difference between the two being the scrolling on the face plate and the gold embossing. She pointed out that the face plate (with the blue lettering) denotes a Centennial model. The machine has seen a great deal of use but has not been abused. Apart from the inevitable pin scratches occurring over the years, it's still in good condition. The motor runs well and responds without hesitation to the foot control. It has been dusted, lubricated and tested on some swatches. T are some surface scratches in the finish as shown in the photos. These are located across the top, inside the wheel and alongside the base near the pin housing. T's no rust or peeling lacquer. The machine comes with the foot pedal control and electric cord.
