This is a American Indian Northern plains Sioux beaded medicines man pouch found on the battlefield of the Little Big Horn in the 19th century. This pouch is in mint condition for the age with all the bead work present. This pouch measures about 5 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches and the original belt tie. The provenance I have say this pouch was found about 1/2 mile from w Crazy Horse had camped with his warriors. The bead colors are red white hearts , navy blue , light blue , greasy yellow beads and greasy yellow glass transparent beads , and dark green and white beads. The pouch is made from deer or elk hide and the hide is all brain tanned. This medicine mans pouch has a beautiful patina from it and was part of Maj Donald Bradley's private collection later donated to a museum in Martin South Dakota. This pouch was de- accessioned in 1987 and bought by the noted historian Ormie Brimmer. I am always happy to combine shipping up to 5 days of end of auction.
