Up for auction is a working vintage police, ambulance or fire truck type siren. I believe this one was actually mounted on a police car in the 1960’s. The siren is approximately 8-1/2 inches long and stands about 7-1/2 inches tall. You can see form the pictures that it is made by Federal Sign and Signal Corporation in Blue Island Illinois and is a Model EG I placed the black wire on the positive side of a car battery and placed the base on the negative side and the siren spun up very, very loud. No unusual noises or vibrations, it seems to work perfectly. I assumed with only one wire that the unit itself was the ground and it worked that way. T seems to be a small bolt on the bottom that you could run a ground wire to if you could not mount it directly to clean metal. The unit has a few dents but nothing that hurts the operation.
