Original one-sheet poster for Sitting Bull. (UA, 1954) Standard one-sheet poster, 27 in. x 41 in., for the film, "Sitting Bull," starring Dale Robertson, Mary Murphy and J. Carrol Naish. Pinholes and related tears at the corners and small tears at the upper right and left sides along the horizontal fold. Otherwise, in good condition.
The above poster is from the archives of the old Court Theater of Livingston, California, in the heart of the Golden State's Central Valley. The poster was originally sent to the Court Theater directly from the National Screen Service, displayed once during the respective film's release, and was then folded and placed in storage in a protected and secluded area of the theater's back offices. Nearly all of them have been opened only once since that time - for the photography of this auction catalog. As such, the condition of these posters is astonishing, and collectors will most likely never find better examples of each individual poster. These posters are fresh to the market, and have never been offered for sale anyw before. Extensive collections like this rarely remain intact, and this is one of the few of its kind left. Every poster from this collection is in its original un-restored state.
