FABULOUS SIX PIECE 1920'S ART DECO BEDROOM SET INCLUDING RARE CHIFFEROBE WITH BUILT IN DESK SUMMER SALE ITEMS WILL END SOON-BUY NOW BEFORE THE FALL RUSH-GREAT SET FOR SHORT MONEY!!! FINAL PRICE CUT!!! For your consideration we bring you this very unusual and seriously cool six piece art deco bedroom suite. This lovely set contains a chifferobe with cedar closet and built in flip down desk. This desk compartment has its own working lock and key. The interior of this desk sits back far enough to accommodate a lap top. The flip down face of this desk is very sturdy and capable of writing or typing on. We noticed that this Chifferobe has different handles than the rest of the set, so it appears that this is not the original chifferobe that went with this set. However, it was with the set when we bought it and works very well with the other pieces. The dresser of this set has an oval mirror which has a mechanism making it capable of tipping up or down giving you different angles of view. The vanity on this set has a very large oval make up/dressing mirror, glass top shelf and built in lower decorative mirror that serves as a back panel below the glass shelf. This set also has one very nice nightstand, vanity bench and a very cool full sized bed. This bed has a low footboard and is capable of accommodating Queen sized conversion rails. These rails will covert your full size bed into a Queen size and are available at most bedding specialty stores. The handles on the dresser, vanity and nightstand are brass and Bakelite. The hardware on the Chifferobe is a bit different employing rosettes and nice wooden pulls. The Chifferobe is 41" long, 21" wide and 61" tall. The dresser with tilting mirror measures 46" long, 20" wide and is 73" tall. The vanity with large oval mirror is 50" long, 17" wide and 70" tall. The night stand is 16" long, 14" wide and 26" high. The vanity bench is 24" wide and 23" high (the fabric is a bit tired and can easily be changed -send us the fabric & we'll do it for you free of charge) and lastly the oval headboard full sized bed is 57" wide and 46" high at the headboard and the footboard is 25" high and 57" wide. FURNITURE WOODS 101 We get a lot of questions on whether or not the furniture we list is comprised of solid wood or veneered. We would like to take this opportunity to give our customers a brief explanation of the construction of antique furniture. Most specialty cuts of wood i.e., tiger maple, bird's eye maple, tiger oak (a.k.a. quarter sawn) crotched mahogany, Cuban mahogany, burled walnut, flame birch, flame cherry, etc., are applied to furniture via veneers. These choice cuts of woods are prohibitively expensive that they very rarely used these in solid wood form. However, t were exceptions to this. When we are fortunate to encounter one of these exceptions, we try to be clear in identifying the solid wood construction. In most cases, these woods are no longer available at any price. If our listing doesn't state that it is made of solid wood, then the furniture was made from a combination of veneers and solid secondary woods. We list the specialty woods in our listings first, as that is the most prominent feature. Please read descriptions carefully and look at all photos. Ask any questions that you may still have. Requests of additional photos are encouraged, as we are limited to the amount of space allocated for photos. We hope this clarifies for you some of the mystique involved with buying antique and vintage furniture.
