Twelfh lot of a large proportion of my pipe collection to go under the hammer. I will combine shipping, if needed. Each group will have high quality pipes, including Dunhills, Petersons, etc. This group consists of six pipes: a Peterson Kapruf, first marked 69, then overstamped, and finally a number 73 beneath. This is a pre-Republic pipe, marked "Made in Ireland, very light cake, no visible char, but heavy chatter, a great smoker; a Comoy Grand Slam Patent, on other side, US Patent Number, and a number 206, has an unusual screen at bottom of bowl, removable, some char, light cake, chatter on end of stem. Pipe has a metal stinger, and there is a mark on stem, a straight line, like an "I" or number 1; Medico Italian Briar, heavy use, thick cake, roughened rim; Filterwell Imported Briar, has a hole at back of bowl, a piece missing? not sure; a nice stack from Tobacconist, Inc., that I believe to have been made by a top British maker, possibly Charatan, with some char on rim, light cake, and some tarnish and a few tooth marks; last, a Captain Ellis, very little use.
