This is a rather unusual 6 stack quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a stacked bookcase or lawyer's bookcase. This really was a lawyer's bookcase as I purchased it from a law firm in northern Indiana. It had been originally purchased around 1910 and had been with them this entire time. Excellent original finish--no repairs or restoration at all. Unusual size as most barristers were 34 wide although I have had some 3/4 size which were 27 wide. This unit is 30 wide-didn't know they made this size. This is a Macey unit, one of Globe Wernicke competitors. Very pretty unit with substantial size and beautiful condition (note beading along top of unit). Overall size is 30 wide, 10 deep, 88 high (7 feet 4 inches). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Either email (see above) or call at our store on Fridays or Saturdays. A word about condition. Those of you who have purchased from me before know that I am very picky about condition. I will try to note anything of significance in the description. However, please check the photos carefully---as they say 'a picture is worth a thousand words' We will help arrange shipping for you; our experience with large or small has been excellent. We do offer an easy layaway program. Usually 20% down, with the remaining term somewhat negotiable. Please email us before read more
