We are pleased to offer this fabulous, original (circa 1850) Sixth Plate Daguerreotype of a Sailor in his striped shirt, neckerchief and hat. This image was discovered in an attic trunk of an 18th century home in downtown Mystic Connecticut several years ago; presumably a relative of the original homeowner. The image is super clear; far better in person than my photographic abilities can show. 100% original; seal never broken and still in its original brass surround. There are a couple of tiny scratches on the surface of the glass, which don't detract but is mentioned for full accuracy. I have enjoyed owning this fine image for several years and now its someone elses turn. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a fine vintage image found in an area rich in marine history.
