Greetings ebayers! Up for auction is this extremely rare BLUE Prehnite from the LOWER....yes Lower New Street quarry in Paterson, New Jersey. From the absolutely magnificent Alan "Bundy" Beres collection which I just acquired. I have never seen such a meticulously labeled and cataloged mineral collection in my 15 years in the hobby. He collected in NJ from the 1930's to the early 1960's. Anything from Lower New St is rare and highly sought by NJ collectors. No other mineral is more desirable than Prehnite from the mythological Lower Quarry at New St!. BLUE Prehnite is a VERY rare occurance from this quarry and is incredibly prized by local NJ collectors. Ebay very rarely sees a specimen like this! It measures a big 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. This looks like Smithsonite....it is that gemmy and translucent......a truly great display specimen! The color is great!!!! This is such a gorgeous shade for Prehnite.....absolutely gorgeous!!. Much better in person!!! A bonafide and indisputable NJ classic!! This locale has been closed for decades.....so do not miss out!! The pictures tell the story..........world class color & good form, classic material, vintage locale and large cabinet size! ! How many Blue Prehnites has ebay seen in the past 5 years?
